Hello, Boston!
I'm here. Hilariously, I managed to work out _almost_ all of the logistics involved for getting myself here. I packed clothes, brought them along to work, and set out for the airport at 12:30. I picked up the rental car, packed my bike and stuff inside, and drove straight to Boston, setting my sights on Riverside Boat Club. Made it there in 3 hours 20 minutes, with just a smidge of traffic.
I just forgot one thing: parking.
People who drive cars frequently probably aren't so aware that people who don't drive cars rarely devote any time to thinking about finding parking. So although I'd planned to reach my destination, I completely forgot that I wouldn't be able to just leap out of the car and into a boat at Riverside. Particularly in Boston!
Stymied, I drove around the Charles for a while before pausing briefly in a lot outside the Harvard Stadium and giving up and driving straight to my friend's house in Natick for the evening.
I mean, I don't even know how to look for parking. I'm horribly out of practice when it comes to parallel parking. Sheesh, just give me a bike and I'll take the T or a bus! This is no town for driving.
