I don't like having things in my ears (like earbud headphones). However, after hearing S's complaints about noisy people on the California Zephyr, I thought it would be prudent to pack earbuds, and it was, for the older Latino couple that held loud speakerphone conversations until shushed by a conductor proceeded to have inane conversations the.entire.night.
