It is so, so hard to think clearly when sleep-deprived.

I don't feel like I should feel as sleep-deprived as I feel right now.

Admit it. You're living in a haunted mansion. The doors creak and slam throughout the night. There's screaming seeping through the walls, and a faint air of concertina music lofting up from below. There's a room that no one ever goes in with a reputed foul stench. The whole structure is cracking and slouching and the trim is falling off.

Also, swingshift lag is no fun. I know. A lot of my Tempe crabbiness came from doing radical things with my sleep patterns to try to get my work done.

do you have wifi on during the night or close to where you are sleeping? it could be causing your insomnia. just unplug it at night and you would notice a difference. another sleep breaker is too much coffee late in the day.. anything else, i would need to call ghost busters..

We have some tweaker neighbors who are up doing interesting things like running the lawnmower at all odd hours of the night, so that's definitely one factor. Our wifi isn't all that close to where we're sleeping. I've managed to convince S to cover up all of the blinking computer lights, which also helps tremendously. And I typically just have one caffeinated beverage a day in the mornings.

One weird thing, though - I have found that sometimes allergies make me buzzed and make it hard to sleep.

turn out the lights shut off the noise..

sounds like a plan..

if i have any upsets, like stomach or muscle aches i too find it difficult to sleep, i haven't got extreme allergic reaction, but apparently other people's house dust makes me sneeze, making it difficult to house sit or sleep elsewhere. i actually got diagnosed for dust allergies..

go figure?

Going beyond 'it is so hard to think clearly when sleep-deprived' to 'it is impossible'. Your brain just doesn't work the same way.
