Monastic Silence

It has been another morning of being unable to tune out the swirling conversations in cubicle-land, and despairing upon looking up my headphone repair/replacement options (shell out another $100 to Bose for a brand-new set, most likely, something that goes against my philosophy on material goods).

I despise shared office space, and am inclined to agree with E about the need for more spaces with monastic silence. I wonder how much academic productivity is lost due to foolish corporate-style organization of space.
