Fear my kitchen

Today was definitely a Day o' Domesticity. J came over for coffee and waffles with strawberries and chocolate ice cream. (to make
popcultureicon jealous: they looked pretty much like this:
)
But before he came over, I made up some fresh hummingbird food and sewed the remainder of an apron--I'll post pics tomorrow 'cause the fabric is extra-special (in other words, it's covered in insects).
Then there might have been some sitting around and talking, and some more general lounging about at a most dilatory pace. Subsequently, I made some hummus (although I'm not entirely happy with it--it's a wee bit too tangy, probably because I had to use fake lemon juice). Then J and I helped A move furniture to her new digs, and then I came home and cooked some delicious Indian food--potatoes in a tangy tamarind sauce, and spicy yellow squash. Yum.
So lots of cooking, overall. Which is good, because now I have all sorts of delicious foods sitting around that are in need of eating, and only a moderate handful of vegetables left from various CSAs that are yet uncooked. It has been a vegetable bonanza for the past month, and I've been falling behind on eating them all. I think they are also to blame for making me too skinny. More fat! More protein! Fewer vegetables!

I miss you, and I'm jealous of the CSA veggies!
