I don't even remember where I left off, but Tuesday and Wednesday were something of a blur of shuttling people around, cooking, and getting a third coat of varnish on the outside of Petrichor. Thursday morning I did my now-usual half marathon on the rowing machine to start the Holiday Challenge, then helped shuttle my mom and food over to M&M's house for a delicious, almost completely vegetarian Thanksgiving (with a side of ham for those who wanted at least something).

scrottie for company, then in the afternoon we took Petrichor over to a beach in Richmond to paddle around in more mild conditions. I was pleased to have a chance to get sytharin and my mom out in the boat, especially since they've been my boatbuilding site hosts. Then back to M&M's house for Thanksgiving leftovers and more board games.
On Saturday, after even more erging, we ventured forth to San Francisco by way of the ferry in Jack London Square. Most of our time was on Valencia Street, where we had delicious Indian street food, visited the Pirate Supply Store, and serendipitously encountered an alley full of murals that wound up being the highlight of the expedition. I took photos but it might be Thursday or Friday before I get to them.
After Sunday's erg session (by now you can sense a theme), S and I walked over to the sailing club and had a leisurely afternoon sail with two other club members, one of whom turned out to be a microbiologist. The other brought along a black labrador for the dog's first time sailing. Being out sailing created a unique sense of peace.
Then we made a quick stop by the grocery store, headed to the house to gather up my mom and her luggage, and headed to a delightful Ethiopian restaurant for dinner and tiramisu. We waved her goodbye, came home, and that's where I am now, needing to get to work on manuscript revisions/etc.
