Weird [status]
Feb. 9th, 2024 10:17 amSitting here at my desk, I ate a zinc lozenge. I was having very minor cold symptoms prior to that.
Symptoms are now totally gone.
The only other time I ever experience changes like this are when I'm dealing with allergies, and take allergy drugs.
It is just strange to notice the absence of symptoms. Sinus congestion is gone. Coughing, gone.
I suppose only time will tell whether or not that is the end of this tiny cold, or whatever it is.

There is an excellent commentary article in the most recent edition of the journal Science, entitled Teach Indigenous Knowledge Alongside Science, the thing I keep thinking about and wanting to work on.
But it's paywalled, so I'm not sure about the best way to share it with you. It draws from a lot of experiences and policies in New Zealand, and contains some excellent points about the relationship between different sources of knowledge.
I kind of want to use it as the basis for a discussion with colleagues, but I'm not sure I have the energy to set up a discussion. I just think it could make for some good conversation, and maybe the conversation would help inform and improve our teaching practices.
