Tastes of summer [food]
Aug. 25th, 2022 12:30 pmWhile in Seattle, I ate several supremely delicious peaches, a perfect nectarine, and a cantaloupe that tasted like candy, to say nothing of a sumptuous heirloom tomato and the artichokes I've been longing for. (the only artichokes I've encountered out here have been either canned or totally depressing-looking; they are challenging to keep alive here through the winter)
In New York, I haven't actually had any fresh corn on the cob this summer, but the backyard raspberries have been phenomenal, and the recent ratatouille was, as usual, a great way to enjoy summer eggplant. And then there's the fresh pesto, of course.
What are your favorite foods of summer?
