The results are in for the 2020 lucky penny pile

The 2020 lucky penny pile: $10.68. The pennies arranged chronologically here. The biggest pile of pennies are pennies from 2019. The oldest penny found in 2020 was from 1959.

2016 still stands as the record year so far, at $52.71, with decreases each year thereafter. 2015 was the next-lowest year, at $11.10.

The amounts reflect the combined efforts of myself and Scott since at least 2011.

This year I finally started up an annual spreadsheet page with what records I could scrape together quickly. I've got:

We didn't find any bills in 2020, just coins. I think we might have both found $20 bills in 2016 but it might also be that we each found a $20 bill across 2016 and 2017.

I woke up with a bit of a scratchy throat this morning. Earlier this week S reported feeling slightly fatigued and a slightly scratchy throat. So I skipped rowing practice.
