Hello, Austin!

I'm not sure the last time I was in Austin, but it has been a while and it's interesting to be back because of the many layered memories I have of the place. This conference was actually held in Austin some years ago when I was living in College Station, and on that occasion I got to ride my bike to the conference.
I am bumping into so many people here. It was disorienting at first, but I'm grateful for the chance to catch up with everyone and talk about where our lives and research have taken us in recent years.
I am woefully underprepared to give this talk but it's too late to do anything about that now.
