Jan. 23rd, 2019 04:18 pmA subset of students is making heavy use of office hours while working on their first lab report. These students will most likely all earn A's on their first lab report. It is costing me time and energy but it's hard to get too upset, considering they appreciate the intellectual engagement.
But: I was up until 10 pm last night finishing up materials for today's lecture. Unbeknownst to me, the morning bus schedule changed, so walking to and waiting for the bus ate up extra time, too. My Wednesdays are a complete whirlwind with teaching two classes and then holding 2 more hours of office hours. I have a rowing board meeting this evening.
I don't know that things are going to ease up. I'm going to be eating into weekend time a lot this semester, I suspect. Just have to keep it together as best I can.
I miss my bike commute on these snowy days. More weather is blowing in today, so I don't know whether I'll get to bike commute at all this week. Tomorrow morning is carpooling to rowing practice.
