A truckload

scrottie last night, he said it was too big. He had to stop for a few minutes just outside of Bisbee while a microburst storm blew through. Yay monsoon season.
Our options had been: 16-foot truck (barely fit in one kayak on the diagonal for our CA-AZ trip in January), 24-foot truck, 26-foot truck. The 24-foot truck and 26-foot truck cost the same amount, so S declared that it would be useful to have the extra space.
I'll try and take a photo once we've loaded everything in. We probably won't try to work on that during the middle of the day, even though today's high temperature is only going to be 103 degrees, as compared to the 116-117 degree days that happened this past week.
I'm also thinking that an evening departure might be wise, so as to avoid accidentally frying the crickets, ants, and plants. We shall see. We've got a fair bit of arranging to do and it's ridiculous to try and put a timeframe on all the moving parts involved in this expedition.
I suspect that truck-packing will follow the same kind of trajectory as stuff-packing does.
