Feeling the hotness
Jun. 9th, 2018 05:19 pmI dragged
scrottie out for a 30-mile bike ride loop around Mummy Mountain last night after the sun went down. The air quality left me coughing for a while after we got home. I didn't miss that feeling.
Then I rode over to the Phoenix Farmer's Market this morning, reasonably early so it wasn't too hot by the time I got home again (10:30). That trip takes about an hour in either direction.
I signed up for the 4-week "independent study" ceramics studio session on Saturday afternoons, so after lunch I rode over to that. It's only a 3-mile ride one way. People in that class are extremely talkative - not my favorite dynamic for ceramics. Ah well.
After that, I rode over to the grocery store at about 3 pm. Starting to feel hotter. Then home again with the groceries at 4:30 pm. Only 108 degrees today at 4:30 pm, and the mercury's still dipping below 80 degrees for a couple of hours at night.
But I've lost enough heat tolerance to be feeling the effects anyway.
