Is it because I'm overdue for an OS update? I thought I might take Apple's bait with regards to a "free" upgrade, except then I'm back at one of those points where Apple insists that it MUST HAVE my credit card number, whether I like it or not, except it really doesn't like the fact that my credit card expires this month. I'm also concerned that Apple may or may not have done a nice job with respect to backwards compatibility for several pieces of software for which I paid cash money for hard copies.
Grr.
However! I also have a piece of lovely (albeit trivial) news. I finally have some slippers that I love. When I was a kid I had some of those moccasin-style ones, which never actually kept my feet warm. In college, a roommate gave me some fleece Tufts ones that came up over my ankles, and suddenly I understood how slippers are supposed to work. They eventually died, but then one of my uncles gave me some hideous slipper socks that were okay. The moment that the Snow Leopard Trust had a sale on slippers, I got some. They are red and gray felted wool and I am inordinately pleased.
