I have acquired a head cold from my father and mother.
I'm also still feeling quite overwhelmed from a whole lot of knees bent running about advancing behavior, that looks something like this:
Tuesday: took LM to Bakery Nouveau for breakfast, then said farewell and spent the afternoon working on a job application.
Wednesday: spent the morning cooking a Portobello Wellington with Madeira Sauce (note that there are two Wellington dependencies, Mushroom Pecan Pate and Portobellos + Pan-Braised Leeks, and one Madeira Sauce dependency, a double-batch of Mushroom Essence, and by now you're probably realizing why I only make this dish for Thanksgiving). Spent the afternoon installing an over-the-oven microwave for my parents (their alternative plan was to wait for delivery and installation on December 23).
Thursday: More cooking and eating, and multiple games of Bananagrams. I only sang the bananaphone song once.
Friday: Biked in the pouring rain up to Eltana Bagels. Only cheated slightly to solve the crossword puzzle. Biked straight over to Allegro, typed moistly, then submitted the job application (which is now causing a bunch of argh headdesk feelings). Then home to tackle miscellaneous projects. Made a pie crust in the evening for a Meyer Lemon Meringue Pie, and got beaten at Scrabble by
scrottie. I think that was around Scrabble game #6 for the trip?
Saturday: Finished the pie. Went out to Orting for Friday After Thanksgiving-Saturday Otherwise (FATSO) with the extended family. More eating, plus a walk along the Puyallup river, where we dodged puddles and saw two bald eagles. Then back to Seattle for a trip to the Can Can to see a show (whee!).
Sunday: Quiet morning, then an expedition for more pho and a visit to Uwajimaya with S and two friends from grad school.
