In exchange for help with the bush-whacking of mountain bike trails, J and K loaned me their battery-powered lawnmower. The battery's flaky, so I had to mow in 3 sessions, but each session took under 15 minutes, compared to the 1.5 to 3 hours and finagling it can take to mow with Mr. Pushy. The time adds up.
I'm generally not a fan of electric or gasoline-powered things, where human power will suffice, but I'm more than willing to make an exception when it comes to lawn maintenance. Still, in less than two months, I'll be finished with this lawn, anyway, and it will become someone else's problem. And I just haven't managed to bump "purchase another lawnmower" to the top of the List of Things to Acquire.
I also finally wised up and waited to shower and change into work clothes until after I finished the mowing. This is the time of year when things are extra-swampy between the hours of 9-11 am.
