More regatta decompression stories - the drama story

I have experienced so much more rowing drama out here at regattas than I've ever experienced previously. I think one of the main reasons is that there are a number of midwestern/Texas races that are just a little larger than the organizers are accustomed to managing, so they wind up being just a bit short-staffed, so things fall through the cracks. It's annoying things, like us informing the regatta organizers that we have to hotseat a race, then having them yell at us while we hustle down to the starting line, where they're trying to start a race before it's scheduled to begin.
