I think I'm going to make it through...
Apr. 26th, 2012 03:41 pmI wish I could write on a structured schedule. I spent half of Monday, plus basically all day Tuesday and Wednesday trying to work on a computational problem - the same one I blogged about previously. Eventually, I had to give up on it so I could switch over to working on other aspects of the same manuscript. This problem is hard to put down because it's interesting and I can *almost* solve it.
It was one of those nights where I called it quits at school at around 6:30 so I could go home and eat (warmed up a frozen dinner), and then when I got home I discovered I'd forgotten my power cord and so I had to turn back around and do another trip to and from campus. I wrote until I got too sleepy, then I tried to sleep but didn't sleep well because I was preoccupied by all of the things I needed to get done. Fortunately, when I got up at 5:45, I knocked out a decent chunk of work and got the manuscript sent off to S by 7:45. And he's willing to wait until Monday morning to go over it. That bought me some time to work on a manuscript review, and to get some boats in a row (literally!) for the regatta this weekend.
Now that those are done, it looks like I still have enough time to get the crickets fed before I have to head over to pick up CSA veggies and then out to Lake Bryan to load boats on the trailer. When I finally get home, I'll need to pack for the regatta (we're leaving at 6:30 tomorrow morning) and get a knitting pattern organized. Hopefully I am not forgetting anything else...
The regatta's in Oklahoma. A new state for me. And by the way, here's our tentative regatta calendar for the rest of 2012, too: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=b2p58qjt2inahuaiq7uc835cn4%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Chicago
You'll notice we have a lot of plans for October and November. No erg marathon scheduled. Yet.
