Travel Plans
Mar. 15th, 2012 10:22 amThis is mostly so folks know where I am and what I am up to.
There's a brevet down in Brookshire on Saturday, a Populaire (100km). I'm going to bike down to Brookshire tomorrow afternoon/evening (85 miles) with a rider who's just getting into long-distance cycling/brevets, and will stay overnight in a motel there (the closest campground was full, alas). The next morning, I'll get up, have some breakfast, and will ride in the 100-km (60 mile) brevet. Originally, I was thinking of spending another night down there, but as I think about it, it makes just as much sense to just start heading back north after the brevet wraps up. That would make for the longest single-day ride so far on the Jolly Roger (145 miles), but would still put it under the 300-km mark (186 miles). Just fine as an intermediate, methinks.
So, there you have it.
