I forgot to mention something. Over the weekend, I finally cracked open a second melon that I'd purchased from the farmer's market a week prior. When I told the Aggie Horticulture guy that I'd enjoyed the previous melons, he suggested that I set down the cantaloupe I was about to buy in favor of an Israeli melon that he promised would be even more delicious. Well. Was he ever right. I think that was the best melon I've ever had in my life.

Last night, I opened up the boxes of books in the living room and arranged the books along the floor. I also pulled out about 20 books to get rid of, and put them in a pile along with a few other items, including some miscellaneous ceramics. I'll take a photo of the ceramic items in the next couple of days in the event that any of you would like them. There are a couple of teacups and a berry bowl/colander in there. Next, I need to open up the boxes of academic books, and then start going through the boxes and boxes of academic papers. You're envious, I can tell.

I also managed to haul myself out of bed this morning at 5:30 to complete a couple rounds of body circuits (you know, sit-ups, pushups, jumpies, et cetera). Body circuits tend to provide me with pretty instant feedback on how out of shape I am. If I can motivate myself to get up at 5 tomorrow, I'll bike out to Lake Bryan to see what's going on out there, if anything. I need to get a membership to the rec center, here. I might be erging for a long time before I can get back on the water, but I need to do something to keep from getting too depressed. I'm thinking I'll wind up doing body circuits twice a week in the mornings, and then if there isn't any activity at the lake I'll erg three times a week in the afternoon right as I finish up work. My labmate M also had a good suggestion - to check Netflix for fun/interesting/weird/diverting exercise DVDs, which I can use to mix up the body circuits.

kitty-cats love to help with sewing projects.
Miss Emma was excited to help me with sewing the costume. Or maybe she was just intrigued by stuff sliding along the fabric.
