Everything in the photo came from the garden, including the sunflowers and wheatgrass (for Emma to eat).

That is the third zucchini. If more of the flowers had been pollinated, we would be awash in zucchini. The slugs continue to get a portion of each and every strawberry. The tomatoes have been delicious. The butternut squash was a volunteer plant that has overrun a planter that originally contained just eggplants. I am pleased with this year's harvest - after learning how to garden here, I feel like it would be much easier to learn to garden in other places. I still share [livejournal.com profile] scrottie's obsession with the idea of constructing a greenhouse, though; there are so many exotic and interesting options that would become available.

Temperatures are starting to climb, and I don't think they'll go down much again until fall. So things are going to start dying off pretty soon. But on the other hand, some of the tiny tomatillo plants that [livejournal.com profile] scrottie planted last year have produced children, which are springing up amongst the squashes. The fig tree is doing all right, and we've got some more loofah vines in. The herbs are still doing well, too.
