Article Title of the Day
May. 3rd, 2011 04:01 pmDespite my mixed feelings about the journal the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, I look through their table of contents each week. This week, the following headline caught my eye:
"Flowers of Cypripedium fargesii (Orchidaceae) fool flat-footed flies (Platypezidae) by faking fungus-infected foliage"
That's quite an alliteration those scientists have gotten going, there.
Other than that, I have been trying to get a lot of work done. Worked on a fire ant grant all weekend. Tried to work on some manuscript revisions yesterday. Am trying to get a lot of data analysis done as well. I've got to get this cat in the bag in the next couple of weeks, so I can send it around to my committee well in advance of my defense deadline.
Back to work.
