A little bit every day
Sep. 24th, 2010 05:20 pm[Aside: I could really use a gardening userpic one of these days]
My mantra right now for life is, "A little bit every day." It's mid-September right now, in case you hadn't noticed. That means it's prime planting season here in the low desert. The only problem is, I'm running out of weekends for big projects. So the garden is going to have to happen one small piece at a time. This morning, that meant prepping two beds, one for mustard greens and one for more Swiss chard. Other little projects will include planting wheat berries for the chickens, and actually planting the mustard greens and Swiss chard. Then there's prepping the main vegetable bed...fortunately, that one can wait a bit longer, because we just started a whole bunch of seeds, and they aren't ready to transplant, yet.
My dissertation research feels the same way. I have multiple projects going, and as long as I do a little bit every day, things will move forward.
