Zombie Days

Do you ever have those days where you feel like you spent a good portion of the day as a zombie? That's how today feels. I'm trying to work on writing the introduction to my first dissertation chapter, and it's slow going. I think the zombiefication can be blamed on yesterday's afternoon caffeination and resultant poor sleep. I wanted to have enough energy to make good progress on the Manuscript of Doom II: The Sequel, and I did, so I did, but at a price. I just want this chapter to be written and over with.

The erg marathon is this Saturday, so this is the last week of preparations. More than anything, I'll be relieved when it's over. I'm borrowing an erg from global_keewee for the marathon, which is sitting in my room today, taunting me.

And in more uplifting news, my good friend and cubicle-mate DM passed her comprehensive exam and proposal defense today. At least someone is making good progress around here.
