A quick update
Aug. 5th, 2010 03:42 pmJust like Australia, Denmark has these Visitor Information centers where you can pay a wee bit of money for an internet connection. Quite handy. So - I am on Bornholm with my friend DM. We have rented bicycles for the day, and have gone to visit an old castle (built in the 1300's). I forgot my camera cord, so I will have to wait until the end to upload photos. Everybody bikes here, as with the Netherlands, and the bike highways between towns are often gravel paths through the forest along the ocean. That is, wherever they are not gravel paths through fields of wheat or what looks like broccoli gone to seed. D is enjoying the roadside fruit and vegetable sales, even if they are somewhat sporadic.
So, yes. Quite nice. Pricey but enjoyable. We are also amused by the inclination to put small objects in the windows, especially orchids or little figurines. Watched some amazing glassblowers, and shortly we will be off to check out some cliffs and such. The winters must be pretty terrible here, to judge by how splendid the summer weather is. A welcome break from the Phoenix heat.
