Getting Ready
Aug. 1st, 2010 07:26 pmI'm going to Copenhagen, departing Tuesday morning. There's a lot to do between now and then. First, it rained like crazy on Thursday and Friday, triggering mating flights of my ants down in Tucson. S and I went down there this morning, and got some ants, but will go back for more tonight.
Then there's getting my poster finalized and printed. It's one of those "I really hope I don't seem stupid!" things. I'm sure I'll be okay when I get there. I'm freaking out slightly because I haven't finished 3 major things: figured out more potential postdoc options, completed the first draft of chapter 1 of my dissertation (though it's the same subject as the poster, and I've certainly been working on it), and finalized the summer's experiment (again, I've been working on it, but a big part of it hasn't worked according to plan, yet). I think a frank discussion with my advisor tomorrow will allay some fears, but still. These things never get done on time, which is stressful.
On top of all that, I haven't done too much work to figure out what I'll do while I'm in Denmark. It would be a shame to feel like the trip is a wasted opportunity, as I don't know when/if I'll go back to Europe. But there just hasn't been time to plan the trip/I just haven't made time to plan the trip.
Things might be quiet, here, for a few days, while I'm running around and doing things. Just so you know.
