Back in the whirlwind
Mar. 30th, 2010 06:50 pmI wish I had time to do my own science these days. I seem to be doing too much of everybody else's science instead.
I'm still processing the whole brevet-riding experience; it was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. As DM puts it, I keep managing to outdo myself in the levels of insanity that I reach. At the same time, I'm so grateful I got to have that experience in such good company. Sure, there were moments when all three of us grumbled or snapped at each other, but all three of us helped each other get through the whole thing, too.
And there's something about riding on empty highways in the dark. It's like being in a video game, or tunnel of some sort. A dark cloak; moonlight shining down over the still and quiet desert.
