What a day. I ended up sleeping in and skipping rowing this morning, which put me in a slightly dissatisfied mood. But I think I needed the sleep. I did the usual morning business, and then headed in to campus, where I worked away for a while. Then, my friend
trifold_flame arrived in town, so the Scrabble Society convened to enjoy lunch with her at Essence Bakery. It was quite nice - the bakery is now making passable croissants (I wish I could call them great, but, eh, better than no croissants), and of course their macarons are still incredibly good.
Then I went home, to show E the progress of the garden and the chickens. Lo and behold, well, the picture says it better:

I don't like taking pictures with my camera phone, because my phone won't talk directly to my computer and I have to send the pictures to myself. This was a worthwhile exception. So exciting, and yet kind of strange, because I'm going to eat these eggs. They are such precious little things when they first pop out of the chicken's butt.
And now I will carry on with my day.
