Holiday Challenge Update
Dec. 18th, 2009 10:01 amFor the rowing nerds in the audience, mostly:
I've completed 176,796 meters so far, so I've got 23,204 m to go. Hopefully I can knock those out on Monday; Seattle meters are resembling last year's approach, where I try to get in a bunch of meters every time I go to the boathouse.
The boathouse scenery has remained pretty interesting as well - today, some of the athletes who appear to be pre-elite or elite athletes (aka Olympic-level rowers) were doing some VO2-max testing. One guy was wearing a face mask and had a little box strapped to a harness on his back while he rowed. The geek in me really wanted to stick around and ask questions, but I've been trying to be a courteous and unimposing guest at the boathouse, so I refrained from butting in.
I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it has been to be in a REAL boathouse environment.
