To Do: Write List.
Dec. 7th, 2009 12:57 pmWhat a weekend. I know, I know, I say that just about every weekend, but still. I'm going out of town for quite a while in the upcoming weeks, so this past weekend was one of those "last hurrah" sorts of weekends. Saturday morning, I made chocolate waffles for breakfast, and then
scrottie and I sat down and composed a list of projects to attend to, including (with stuff completed, noted in parenthesis):
-sifting the compost
-building a nesting box for the chickens (check)
-constructing berms around the coop (so it doesn't flood; check)
-weeding the garden
-going to a bike shop for a new tire for S (check)
-shopping for hiking boots for S (unsuccessful, but attempted)
-going to REI to return some ill-fitting pants
-going to the hardware store for nesting box supplies and chandelier-construction supplies (check)
-clean the bathroom (check)
-patch some jeans (check)
-finish one knitting project, gather information for the next one (half-check)
-visit the Sunday farmer's market (check)
-erg (check, Monday morning)
-help
trifold_flame move, then eat too much delicious food (check)
-take care of work and school-related projects
-work on the menu for the Grand Canyon (half-check)
-clean S's apartment at an ungodly early hour of the morning (heh, check)
We didn't finish everything on the list, but we did make significant progress, and even did some things that weren't on the list (like walking S's landpeoples' dogs, and constructing a ladder for the chickens so they can reach their roost more easily). Some of the highlights included: the jeans-patching (which worked pretty well, and which I had put off for a really long time...but now I have three more pairs of pants to wear, again!) and the nesting-box construction (whew, pretty much rickety-style, but it will work!). I just hope I can keep the momentum going through this week, because then I'll be off to Seattle, which will require a whole new list of activities and adventures...
And with that, back to work.
