I suppose things could be worse.
Jun. 30th, 2009 06:50 amLast night I got home at 10:30 pm, exhausted, and learned that the washing machine that I purchased a little over a year ago was not draining. The air conditioner does not appear to be blowing out cold air, either. That one doesn't matter quite as much to me anyway (I haven't really been using it), but poor R just got back from Salt Lake City and isn't acclimated to the heat yet. She had a terrible time sleeping, which always makes her grumpy.
I hope the washing machine isn't expensive to fix, or in need of complete replacement. If that's the case, we'll be schlepping our clothes to the laundromat for a few months, here. It might take higher priority over the computer replacement.
I just keep telling myself that it could be worse.
This set of ant colonies is more time-consuming to observe than I'd hoped, still taking 8 hours instead of the 6 I'd been hoping for. Four more days, including today.
I picked up this letterpressed postcard at Bumbershoot the last time I went, a few years ago [the same time I picked up the "I <3 my bicycle" iron-on t-shirt transfer that adorns my favorite shirt]. It seems appropriate today.
