Late-night blog-o-mania
Jan. 5th, 2009 12:48 amToday I rode around Lake Washington, following much of the Lake Washington Loop, with a deviation to visit the west side of Lake Sammamish [confidential to
dichroic: check out Lake Sammamish for future boathouses].
I grew up staring at the Lake Washington Loop guide signs by my house, and now I finally know where they lead a person on a bicycle.
I took four pictures, and made a few voice recordings on my dad's digital voice recorder, but they won't turn the ride into a story. But I guess not every ride was meant to be a story. I got to see the clam lights, after all, though in daylight and unlit.
Every time I look at Mt. Rainier, I still think of Zack.
The Sammamish River Parkway path is beautiful--ride along it, if you ever have the chance. But wait until it's warmer and you don't have to dodge black ice to get there.
I suspect that my mother's bicycle, the Blue Devil, is more efficient than the Jolly Roger. Given a choice between the two, I'd take the Jolly Roger for its greater gearing range, cargo capacity, comfortable seat, and sensible handlebar (thank you, trigger shifters that shift properly and non-suicide lever brakes).
I was very tired by the end of the ride, and hope it was just the cold [weather] and the [head] cold. It's a good thing I went so I don't embarrass myself on the ride from Tempe to Tucson and back.
