Meanwhile: Ahhh yeah!
Sep. 6th, 2008 11:08 amWell, in two weeks K and I will be completing an erg marathon. That's 26.2 miles, or as we like to put it, 42,195 meters on a stationary rowing machine.
To prepare, I did a half-marathon this morning. And I managed to set a new PR for half-marathons, with a time of 1:33:15.4. That was also a whopping 10 seconds faster than second place on the world rankings for my age/weight category for 2008. Not too bad.
Now, hopefully I'll also manage to PR for the full marathon. We shall see. There's a big difference between rowing a half-marathon and a full marathon, but I did manage to PR last year after getting mono 2 months before. Maybe I should set a realistic goal and try to drop my average split by 2 seconds for this year's marathon.
I also think I need to put together a motivational poster for myself. I also have to remember that I will earn a medal for doing it.
