Mmm, bloggity blog
Jul. 30th, 2008 11:38 amYesterday a scientist and photographer named Alex Wild came to ASU to take photos of one of the ant species that's kept in our neighboring lab. As a part of his visit, he also shared some of his tips and tricks for insect photography with us, and in the process I learned that he has a blog as well. Hurrah, another procrastination tool! He is one of the best, if not the very best, ant photographers in the world. It's funny to go to scientific meetings and note just how many presentations use his photos (with permission, of course).
Actually, one of the coolest parts of the blog is that it's a chance to browse through his ant (and other) photos gradually, instead of being overwhelmed by them all at once. Every time I have a chance to peruse, I'm always amazed by the incredible diversity of ants, and the beauty of insects.
