How to tell if I'm writing something.

I balanced my checkbook this morning, for the first time in a long time.

I'm trying to write out a full draft of my dissertation proposal. Another grad student and I have a self-imposed deadline of 5 pm today. It's going to be a crazy day. But I suspect my desk will be very neat and tidy.

Wow.

My arms are tired and hurting a bit from typing all day. This hasn't happened in AGES. Not since I was an undergraduate, methinks. Amazing.

40 more minutes to go. Whew. What a marathon. It has been nuts, but in a good way. Okay, worky.

Draft 1 Complete.

Well, it's crappy, especially towards the end where my mental capabilities started to peter out, but it's there. Oh, it doesn't have any pretty pictures incorporated yet, either, and it's a bit short (without references included, it's a bit over 9 pages single-spaced), but I have a feeling that all of that is going to change as soon as I start noticing the giant gaping holes and fill them in with lots of typing. And the pretty pictures.
