Question for the craft-inclined

Dear crafty friends,

Now that the worm bin is finished, I'm contemplating building my own frames for my own paintings (at least 3, plus perhaps a fourth print). Thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea (waste of time/money)? Good materials? Good basic instructions for getting started?

Hmm, I might have to photodocument if I pursue this project, too.
