Simple splendory
Jun. 10th, 2008 10:24 amThere were several things yesterday that made for a wonderful day, mostly having to do with wonderful people. First, I talked to
annikusrex for the first time in ages. The best part of talking to her is that it never really seems to matter how much time passes between conversations. It's a good reminder for me that sometimes the most difficult part of things is picking up the phone and dialing. AKW is riding in the Seattle to Portland bike ride with me this summer, and it's going to be a pretty incredible trip.
Then, I got to have dinner with the Extreme Picnicers and members of the Legion of the Left Pannier. The food was delicious and the company was great, and it was good to just sit and enjoy spending time with good friends for a little while. It makes me think back to a few years ago, when life felt a bit too much like tensions and a popularity contest and not enough like understanding, storytelling, and bicycle-riding.
