It is going to be a crazy week, I can just tell.
Highlights from the weekend:
Friday night: I don't remember anymore, but I hope it was fun. Oh yeah, I was at the lab until late, then went home and ate food and pretty much fell in bed.
Saturday morning: woke up, rode bike with friends to Matt's Big Breakfast, ate best breakfast ever, visited farmers market, visited swap meet (! wild times with cheap plastic goods and loads of giant auto mechanic wrenches), rode home.
Saturday mid-day: Napped, briefly
Saturday afternoon: Went to hardware store, bought pitchfork and lawnmower (push mower!) and a few odds'n'ends. Went home. Hauling the lawnmower in the bike trailer was a piece of cake, for the record. It didn't weigh too much and it was fun. Then I went to the Arizona Mills mall, as my annual Reminder-of-Why-I-Don't-Like-Mainstream-Mall-Going-Americans-or-Malls. Ugh. *shudders* But it was necessary because I had to visit the Sears Appliance Outlet. I bought me a washing machine. I feel like a real grownup now that I own a giant, expensive appliance. They'll be delivering and installing it tomorrow (Tuesday), and my pile of stinky clothes and I can hardly wait.
After that, R and I did this-n-that and prepared for our housewarming party, which was massively fun and involved each of us doing two keg stands apiece. For the unacquainted (which included me, beforehand), that involves grasping the handles on a beer keg, having one's feet elevated by one's jolly friends, and imbibing a bit of beer from the keg. Because drinking beer from a cup is just silly. I managed to go to sleep at a reasonable hour given the partying, and then woke up at 8 am with an urge to clean. By 9, R and I had cleaned up the house, and I proceeded to mow the lawn and make coffeecake and take a nap. After that, L,
trifold_flame, J, D and I went out to a peach orchard to pick some peaches, which are now ripening up nicely in my kitchen. And then eventually R and I made our way over to D's house and spent some time hanging out in the pool and grilling up some portabellos because it's the summertime and that's what you should do in the summer.
Yeah.
Now I need to do a lot of work.
Hopefully I'll have time to read my f-list one of these days.
