Fascinating.
Feb. 13th, 2008 08:08 amThis morning I learned that Panhandlers outside Wal-Mart can make more money in a day than Wal-Mart clerks earn in a week. Hmm. Some food for thought, there.
I tried to push myself while out rowing this morning, and now my arms feel tired and dead. I haven't been spending enough time in the single, and it's showing. The tiredness is a good thing, overall, though. I just hope it doesn't interfere with my ability to finish grading (lab reports are done, woohoo, but not homework assignments). Whew.
My mom (and dad) gave me one of those giant exercise balls for my birthday after I requested one to sit upon. It took a tremendously long time to inflate it last night with my bicycle pump, and now it's waiting for a few more hours before I sit on it and bounce around (instructions say to let it rest for 24 hours, probably to allow the material to get accustomed to its new shape). The ball was accompanied by a poster with some sample exercises on it, and the potential and versatility are quite exciting. The exercises range from simple things like sitting on it to more complex things like one-legged wall squats with the ball between one's back and the wall. I don't own many other pieces of exercise equipment, but I think this particular one was a great idea. Bounce bounce bounce.
