Well, I'm back in Arizona for 26 hours, and then I'll be off to Burlington, vT. I turned off the air conditioner while I was gone--it didn't make sense to refrigerate an empty garage. Now it's on again (I sleep more comfortably when the temperature is under 85), but the furniture is still warm. It's odd to reach for a bottle on the counter and feel its warmth--it feels alive, almost.
In some respects, it's a relief to be back in my own space, however briefly: I can make and do things here without trying to figure out how to fit them in a suitcase (or two). In other respects, I was just beginning to remember so many things in Seattle, like the tastes of ripe berries and the beauty of cherry blossoms, and the gentle touch of rain. Now I just feel confused and a bit lost.
