I should have known better.

So I have sourdough starter that my father gave to me. It's called Herman. Whenever my friends see it, they laugh at the silly name. I used to chalk the name up to my parents' particular brand of humor. But now I want to bake sourdough bread, and teh Internets have revealed that the stuff I have is in fact called Herman.
