Sugarplum Fairies
Nov. 27th, 2004 07:53 amYesterday's events:
1. Went to San Francisco and then went to the House of Nanking for some tasty peanut sauce (peanut sauce, mmmmmmmmmm). I'm definitely a peanut sauce addict.
2. Went to the California Academy of Science Museum to check out the ant exhibit. If you're in the Bay Area, you definitely should go. They have two colonies of army ants, a nice, large leafcutter ant colony, some honeypot ants, some Argentine ants (the ones in your kitchen), carpenter ants (ugly!) and some harvester ants (the kind I study). I even got to collect some ant paraphenalia to add to my collection--a plastic ant and an ant puppet! The t-shirts were too expensive, though, so I bypassed them. I also didn't get to meet the curators of the exhibit, which was a bit disappointing because they're the folks that can get me into the ant course next year...Oh well.
3. After saying goodbye to my parents, C, R, and I met up with one of C's friends to see "Nutcracker!" Hence the sugarplum fairies. It was actually a new choreographing of the whole thing, and was quite beautiful and made me think I need to be more cultured and go to such things more often.
4. There's something else I'm forgetting to write about, or keep thinking about but it has escaped for the moment.
