Among Other Things
Nov. 18th, 2004 08:22 pmI should describe what happened yesterday just because it's utterly ridiculous. I got to the airport well before my flight was going to leave, but when I went to check in the airline person couldn't find my reservation. Several minutes of panic ensued, until I thought to have her check to see if my reservation was made from Phoenix to Salt Lake City.
Yep. I booked my one-way ticket going in the wrong direction. It cost me a pretty penny to get it switched, but it turned out that there was a flight leaving at roughly the same time headed towards Phoenix that I could take. Whew.
Turns out that. Reminds me of a conversation I had with some Weston family relations once, about stock phrases that people employ. I'm not really a "turns out that" kind of person. Y'know, "Turns out that we weren't really on a ferry, we were on a tanker!" Nope, I'm more of a "thing of it is" kind of person. You see, the thing of it is, well, yeah. Hah.
This morning I got up and felt rather precocious, so I ran to the boathouse to assistant coach. Then, somehow or another, I ended up doing the workout with the rowers instead of coaching. I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but I *am* sure that it's responsible for this fantastic soreness I've got now. I've decided to try and take more breaks from school for the next week and a half. It has been a tough semester, and I deserve a break. Yay me.
