Yeah, patching melt holes sounds like a real challenge! And if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be darning wool much, either, heh. Thankfully there are lots of other good fabric options out there for folks such as yourself with allergies.

There does come a point where patches no longer really make sense...but it's also so hard to give up on a beloved piece of clothing!
