So, um [travel]

I made it to San Diego, having N95’d it through some extremely busy airports (ugh, Americans, hospitalization rates are going up again, could at least a few more people voluntarily take some very basic precautions? I suspect I will never fly unmasked ever again, although I might eventually downgrade to a kn95 for comfort).
Escaping the San Diego airport by bicycle was…interesting. Definitely rode on a section of airport road that gave off “to the freeway!” vibes for a hot minute.
Also, downtown San Diego appears to be enthusiastic about bike infrastructure, but doesn’t seem to have yet fully grasped the concept of continuity. Not a huge issue when riding around at midnight, but I will need to spend a bit more time to figure out what’s most pleasant for daytime riding.
Conference activities don’t start until this evening, and it’s a Sunday on a major holiday weekend, but I have an overdue grant review I absolutely must turn in. Any other day I would try and seek out a public library, as is my fallback when traveling.
This Airbnb is pretty great, but not exactly set up as a working environment.
So, um, now what?
