This is mostly for two certain people who don't actually read my blog. Because you know you're had this conversation before.

Funny because my college alum board is always discussing how old/young to date and the age/2+7 comes up a lot!

Mr. Jenner and I are so average. (we were 25/26 when we got married)
It is so interesting that there is such a different cultural attitude about dating someone much older/younger than there used to be. I have known people who thought it was wild that they were dating someone four years older than them and I tend to get quiet and not mention some guys I dated who were significantly older than me. I suppose people like to dwell upon details now and then.

Robert Heinlein says in Number of the Beast that Louisa May Alcott advises a similar formula in Little Women (I know my Alcott well enough to realize that this is a rare case of Heinlein being factually wrong, unless he just meant to imply that the character speaking doesn't know Little Women very well).

The first scary thing is that I've already seen the last line of that comic quoted somewhere today. The second scary thing is that I actually know both Number of the Beast and Little WOmen well enough to to be able to write the above paragraph (without looking anything up).

I think the Beatles said it best: "All the lonely people, where do they all come from?"

I perceive that there are a lot of single people at any age, including myself. What I ask myself is what keeps us apart.
