Here we go now

It's the first day of the fall semester, but I get a small reprieve because both my courses are M/W/F.

On the other hand, I'm running a rowing meeting this evening and another one tomorrow evening, plus [personal profile] scrottie's mom is in town for a visit. So I must get things done before I leave work. Lots of files to edit and post.

To judge by the condition of the milk I left in it over the weekend, my work fridge isn't cold enough. Had to get dining hall coffee this morning, which isn't too bad, actually. Better than no coffee.

A thing that keeps happening: at rowing practice this morning, I had somewhere around 2-5 strokes that were really good, in the 1x. Longer (full extension), faster. But I still can't seem to keep that up consistently. It's simultaneously good and frustrating: at least I know what it should feel like if/when I'm doing things correctly, but why is it so darned hard to keep it up?

What it tells me is that my body is capable of that extra level of magic, but that the extra level of magic is going to continue to require an extensive amount of effort. At the moment, it's helpful to have the presence and direct input of our coach. But he can't be present in that fashion during races at regattas. So I have to keep on it.

Interval pieces this morning. I am tired.

Oh dear. I hope you discovered that the fridge wasn't cold enough before consuming something you wished you hadn't?

Love that magic when it happens!
