Festive attire day / gardening / meal prep Sunday
Happy Halloween! There aren't a lot of faculty members who actually dress up.

Yesterday afternoon the weather was gorgeous, so I raced outside and spent a few minutes bringing in all the hoses for winter. I also moved the frost-sensitive plants to the front porch, and finally planted a patch of tulip bulbs. Gardening was borrowed time; the bathroom will suffer for this week.
I am hoping that this year's defensive strategy will result in actual tulips, instead of just small tulip leaves chewed down to nubs by the bunny rabbits, and bulbs all eaten by the squirrels.
Almost time for the dhalias to come out. Almost. The lavender seems to like this weather.
In other punny news, it was cold enough yesterday morning to require some additional face coverings for the grocery store run.
Fall is running out.
I may have prepped too many foods yesterday for the one person eating that I am. I cooked up a huge batch of black beans, sweet potatoes, corn, and kale for burritos, a big batch of rice, and some almond cookies. I also thawed out a tub of broccoli-cheddar soup and a tub of marinara, and roasted a butternut squash. Methinks the squash cooking follow-up will have to wait until next weekend.
I did not manage to finish grading exams, so here I am, Monday morning. Procrastibaking at its finest. Whee.
