Quiet Night

I have a lot of work that needs to get done, but I just feel like curling up in bed and listening to some sad songs for a while.
My right knee started giving me trouble on Monday morning, just as the morning crew practice started. I still finished out that practice (sprints on the indoor track and body circuits), but I probably should have taken it easy. After some massaging and stretching yesterday, it has started to feel better, but moments like that are scary. I couldn't tell if the issue was misaligned leg muscles (most likely from the change of pace) or something more troubling, like issues with ligaments. I need to be more careful when doing land workouts with the crew team. This illustrates one of the largest changes I've noticed, as a person gets older - it takes longer to warm up and get ready to apply power.
Ehh. Time to pick up this thrilling article here, "The Physiology of Life History Trade-Offs in Animals," and keep reading.
