It has been really hard for my body to keep up with my biking schedule, and I'm starting to get a bit concerned about it. On the one hand, over the past couple of years I had put on a few extra pounds (grad school involves a lot of sitting, that's for sure, and for a while I indulged in a number of small, unhealthy habits). In general I now feel better and have more energy. But on the other hand, it's now uncomfortable to sit on hard chairs because I don't have as much padding on my posterior (long hours on a bike seat don't help, either). And a lot of my clothes don't fit and belts are suddenly big and awkward.
The thing is, I would really like to stay the same--I don't like this fluctuation. But my appetite isn't in sync with my exercise regime, and I don't quite know what will happen when the intensity dies down (which it will to at least some degree after the STP).
Meh. In the very least, I am eating a lot of delicious produce these days thanks to M and K's CSA deliveries. I guess what I need to do is to eat more nutritious, higher-calorie foods--the key part is that they need to be nutritious. But I don't want to be one of those people who walks around with a peanut butter jar tucked under one arm. Oh well.
